About Me: GoldNoob
Hi there! I’m GoldNoob, a brand new gold prospector on a mission to learn everything there is to know about finding the shiny stuff.
Fueled by the thrill of discovery shows like Aussie Gold Hunters and Gold Rush, I took the plunge a few years ago and joined the Gold Prospectors Association of America (GPAA). This decision unlocked a treasure trove of knowledge from experienced members and access to hundreds of claims across the country!
My passion is in the journey, not just the destination. I’m constantly expanding my knowledge of geology, honing my prospecting skills, and uncovering new places to hunt for gold – both in my home state of Texas and beyond.
While Texas might not be known for its gold reserves, that doesn’t stop me from getting out there with my gear. My current setup includes:

Even though local pickings are slim, I keep the thrill alive by ordering dirt from all over the country. I’m also planning prospecting trips to Colorado, the Llano River, and Arizona.
